5 HOME REMEDIES FOR HEALTHY LONG HAIR

Hair loss treatment in Saudi Arabia

We all covet healthy long hair. But the fact is that not everybody is blessed with thick, long and lustrous locks. And even those who naturally have luscious, long locks start losing the silkiness and shine over the time due to poor lifestyle and lack of proper care. Ultimately their hairs become dry, rough and brittle. Fortunately there are few simple things that you can do to improve the health of your hair. Here we will share with you 5 home remedies for healthy long hair that really work. These recipes are very quick and easy. Try them and enjoy healthy head of hair.

1. MASSAGE YOUR SCALP

Massaging is the easiest and cheapest way to stimulate hair growth. It works by increasing the blood flow to the scalp, which ultimately stimulates the hair follicles in dormant state. Apply lukewarm oil of your choice to the scalp and gently massage it in circular motion for five to seven minutes. Leave it on for half an hour and then shampoo hair as usual. You can use coconut oil for normal hair, castor oil for thin hair, almond oil for dull, lifeless hair and olive oil for dry and brittle hair.

For hot oil treatment, apply lukewarm oil to the scalp as well as hair strands. Dip a towel in warm water, ring excess water out and wrap your head and hair in it. Leave it on for 10 to 15 minutes. This will make your hair soft and shiny.

2. CASTOR OIL FOR THICK HAIR

Castor oil is a rich source of vitamin E and essential fatty acids. When applied directly to the scalp, it speeds up hair growth naturally. Since castor oil is quite viscous, dilute it with any other natural oil, like almond oil, olive oil or coconut oil – the latter being the best among all. Mix equal amounts of castor oil and coconut oil (or whichever is available) and massage it onto the scalp. Leave the oil on for an hour and then shampoo your hair as usual. You can enhance the efficacy of castor oil but adding your favorite essential oil to it. Some popular essential oils include lavender, rosemary, peppermint, thyme and eucalyptus oil. For best results, repeat this twice a week.

3. EGG MASK

Egg yolks are packed with protein while the egg white is a rich source of iron, sulfur, phosphorus, zinc and selenium – all essential ingredients for hair growth. This makes eggs highly beneficial for healthy and faster hair growth.

1. Egg Mask 1: To prepare an egg mask, beat an egg and add four tablespoons of Grape Seed oil into it. Also add a few drops of essential oil – preferably lavender oil. Mix it thoroughly and apply it onto the scalp. Leave it on for 25 to 30 minutes and then wash your hair using a mild shampoo and cold water.
2. Egg Mask 2: Take two or three egg yolks depending on the length of your hair. Whisk them with two to three tablespoons of extra virgin oil and few drops of vitamin E. Apply the mixture on your scalp and hair. Leave it on for 20 to 25 minutes and then wash it out with cold water. Shampoo as usual.
3. Egg Mask 3: Whisk one large egg with one cup of skimmed milk and 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Also add freshly squeezed juice from half lemon. Apply this mask to the scalp and hairs and wait for half an hour before washing it out with cold water.

4. BANANAS FOR SOFT AND SHINY HAIR

Banana is a rich source of potassium, an essential ingredient for hair growth. Applying banana mask to the hairs once or twice a week will enhance the sheen and elasticity of your dead and dry locks. Take one ripe banana and mash it thoroughly. Apply it to your hair for 15 to 20 minutes and then shampoo as usual. For best results, repeat this twice a week.

5. EAT BALANCED DIET

Your general health and genes also play a vital role in determining the health of your hair as well their rate of growth. You can encourage a healthy hair growth by maintaining a balanced diet and through proper hair care. Consuming a protein rich diet is an essential prerequisite for thick and healthy long hair. Other nutrients essential for strong hair include iron, multivitamins (vitamins A, B, C and E), biotin, omega 3 fatty acids and zinc. Vitamin B-complex is specifically important for healthy hair growth.

So, if you really want to make your hair grow faster and healthier, include a variety of foods in your daily menu, like eggs, milk, cheese, yogurt, chicken, salmon, avocado, spinach, broccoli, cabbage, parsley, bell peppers, grapefruit, whole grains, brown bread and oats. Also drink fresh fruit and vegetable juices. They are not only good for your hair but also skin. Avoid iron deficiency because that is one major cause of nutritional hair loss.
