  1. Coconut oil as Natural Conditioner

Unprocessed coconut oil is free of any harsh chemicals that are present in the over the counter conditioners. And the best thing about this sweet smelling oil is that it is equally beneficial for all types of hair. So, you don’t need to think hard about your hair type. Simply fetch a bottle of unprocessed coconut oil from the nearest grocery store and use it as a leave-in conditioner. Studies have shown that coconut oil has out-performed sunflower and all other mineral oils in nourishing hairs. It is the only oil that can treat protein loss.

The key to using coconut oil as a leave-in conditioner is applying the right amount to your hair. Applying too much coconut oil to your hair will weigh them down. If you have short hair, just a quarter of teaspoon will be enough. Warm the oil between your palms before applying it to your locks, paying special attention to the ends of your hairs. For longer hair, half teaspoon will be enough. Wash your hair as usual, then rub the right amount of oil between your palms and apply it to the shafts.

For deep conditioning dry and damaged hair, wash your hair with a mild shampoo and apply one teaspoon (for short hair) or one tablespoon (for long hair) on your hair, starting from ends to the scalp. Cover your head and hair with a shower cap and leave it on for a couple of hours (overnight is best). Wash your hair again with the mild shampoo and style as usual. You can also use coconut oil as leave-in conditioner following this intensive treatment.
