5 Natural Remedies for Mustache Growth

moustache regrowth

A lot of men want to be proud owner of thick, long, stylish mustaches, as for many cultures, facial hair stand for masculinity. But not all men find it easy to grow a mustache. Like the hair on your head, the tendency to grow facial hair also depends mainly on your genetic makeup. You can’t change your genes for that matter, but there are certain other things that you can do to speed up hair growth rate and make your mustache grow faster than the normal rate.

The easiest and safest way to make your mustaches grow faster is through natural remedies. Here are some time-tested, easy DIY natural remedies for mustache growth. Try them with confidence:

  1. Eucalyptus Oil Massage:

It is an essential oil known for stimulating hair growth anywhere on the body, and facial hair growth in particular. But like most of other essential oils, eucalyptus oil can irritate skin. This is why it is always recommended to mix it with some carrier oil such as sesame oil or olive oil. Take a quarter cup of carrier oil of your choice and add into it 10 to 15 drops of eucalyptus oil. Mix well and then massage it into the mustache area for a few minutes. Allow the oil to sit for half an hour and then wash off with a mild cleanser and cold water. Repeat regularly on alternate days until you get desired results.

  1. Lemon and Cinnamon:

Lemon and cinnamon mixture comprises an effective, time tested remedy for stimulating facial hair growth. Take one teaspoon of powdered cinnamon and mix it with two teaspoons of lemon juice. Apply a thin layer of this paste on the area above upper lip. Leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes and then rinse off with cold water. Avoid using soap or cleanser for at least a couple of hours after trying this remedy. Don’t try this remedy if your skin is sensitive to lemon. Discontinue its use if you experience any itching or burning sensation.

  1. Amla Oil:

Amla oil, also known as Indian gooseberry, is believed to be highly effective remedy in ayurvedic medicine for stimulating facial hair growth. Take some amla oil in your palm and gently massage it into mustaches with your finger tips. Keep massaging for 3 to 5 minutes and then leave it on for 20 minutes. Wash off with cold water and a mild soap or cleanser. Alternatively, take a handful of fresh mustard leaves. Wash the leaves and grind them into a fine paste. Add a few drops of amla oil into the mustard leaves’ paste and apply it to mustache area. Leave it on for 20 minutes and then wash off with cold water. Repeat this on alternate days for a couple of months or until you get desired results.

  1. Rosemary Oil:

Like eucalyptus oil, rosemary is also an essential oil and should not be applied to the skin in concentrated form. Combine it with some carrier oil (coconut oil is the best choice) in a proportion of 10 to 1. This means, for every 10 drops of carrier oil, add one drop of rosemary oil. Apply this mixture to the mustaches using a clean cotton ball. Let it sit for 15 to 20 minutes and then rinse off with a mild cleanser and cold water.

  1. Fenugreek Paste

Studies have shown that fenugreek is rich in numerous proteins and organic compounds that stimulate hair growth hormones and help to rebuild any damaged or destroyed hair follicles. Take two tablespoons of fenugreek seeds and soak them in water overnight. In the morning grind the seeds with water to get a smooth paste. Apply this paste onto your mustaches and wait for 20 minutes or until the paste is dry. Wash off with normal water. Repeat this twice or thrice a week for a few months.
